High Clouds

Cirrus
Cirrus clouds have a thin, wispy appearance. Cirrus clouds are always composed of ice crystals. The transperancy of these clouds is determined by the degree of seperation of the ice crystals.

Cirrostratus
Cirrostratus clouds have a transparent, smooth, fibrous appearance. These clouds are very extensive, covering a large area of the sky. They are made up of ice crystals.

Cirrocumulus
Cirrocumulus clouds are thin, layered clouds. Cirrocumulus is similar to a degraded version of cirrus and cirrocumulus coluds. This makes it rarer than other high clouds. It is made up of ice crystals.
